Owendo Container Terminal awarded Green Terminal Label

Maio. 25 2022

Following an audit conducted by Bureau Veritas on May 4, 2022, Owendo Container Terminal (OCT), operator of the container terminal at the Port of Owendo, was awarded the Green Terminal label. The awarding of this label recognizes the company's efforts to reduce the environmental impact of its activities through the implementation of eco-responsible measures.

Bureau Veritas experts conducted the audit based on the eight pillars of the labeling process. It includes work processes, the construction of infrastructure that meets international standards, waste management, and employee training in environmental best practices.

Marc Roussel, Senior Vice President Africa at Bureau Veritas, said: «Owendo Container Terminal is a nerve center for the entire Gabonese economy and, more broadly, Africa." We are delighted to be assisting Bolloré Ports in the implementation of the Green Terminal label on-site. Our mission is to conduct audits to determine whether the eco-social commitments made on site are being met. Bureau Veritas is very proud to assist our 400,000 clients all over the world, including here in Gabon, in making responsible progress.»
